Andrea is an incredible instructor. My son had been at a different school but they were not as detailed and thorough as Andrea. He has gotten noticeably better with his form and rhythm. She is great with him, keeps him on task but also excited about playing. It's been amazing working with her, can't say enough good things.

Miss Vukas was my piano teacher for over 3 years, and I’ve learned so much in those years. When Covid hit, and online classes started, she continued to teach lessons with the same quality as when they were in person. Furthermore, she’s very patient when teaching and makes you feel comfortable. She explains all your mistakes and how you can fix them very clearly, making it easier to learn the songs. She also writes all the things you need to improve on in a notebook and sends a picture after every class, which is very helpful when practicing. Overall, Miss Vukas has made piano an extremely fun experience, I would definitely recommend her as a teacher!

My daughter has been going to Andrea for piano lessons for 2 years now. Andrea is patient, understanding, accommodative, and yet thorough in teaching piano. She is always on time for lessons. After each lesson, she sends notes on improvement and homework. She inspires my daughter to love piano and practice lessons on her own. Miss Andrea is an amazing piano teacher. She began teaching my daughter Audrey when she was eight years old. I am pleased with how well Audrey understands both playing piano, and comprehending music theory now at the age of thirteen. Miss. Andrea is flexible when scheduling lessons. Her teaching style is the perfect balance of friendly and encouraging, yet is professional with an emphasis on progress. Miss Andrea allows her students to pick their own contemporary pieces to learn. My daughter loved learning how to play some of her favorite songs on the piano. Miss Andrea also has a well-rounded approach that includes theory lessons and performances. Due to Ms. Andrea's wonderful teaching, I feel that my daughter has greatly improved over the years.

Andrea has been teaching our daughter Anjali for over a year now. Anjali has really enjoyed working with Andrea! Andrea is very flexible in her style and in scheduling which makes it easy for a busy high-schooler to continue pursuing this hobby. Very often when we had a scheduling conflict, Andrea was happy to work around it and to find a time to teach Anjali. Andrea has also allowed our daughter to play the music that she enjoys playing. Because Andrea does not require specific books for students, it has allowed Anjali to take the initiative in what style of music she wants to pursue and this has motivated her to practice and stick with playing the piano. Overall, Andrea has allowed Anjali to pursue her love of music without feeling any stress or anxiety. She has taught her many things that Anjali did not already know and has been very understanding of both Anjali's other commitments and her skill level. We are very grateful to Andrea for helping Anjali to keep music in her life!

I would highly recommend Andrea Vukas as a piano teacher. She has taught my 3 children for 3+ years. The first two years were in person when she lived in the Bay Area. She is very patient with the different levels of interest demonstrated by each of my kids, she encourages them and coaxes the very best effort. She developed a strong connection especially with my son, who is the most serious about music. He enjoys his lessons with her and she is able to keep his interest high without making it feel like a chore. But she also adapted well to my other kids who have been at times less than enthusiastic about practicing. She was able to find music that they really enjoyed, and they even looked forward to playing. Later, when she moved from the Bay Area, we continued lessons by Skype. She did not miss a beat and was able to set up sessions that were still engaging. She always finds a way to work around our busy schedules.
I was especially impressed when Andrea was able to get my daughter, who hates performing in front of anyone, to not only play piano but also sing for one of her recitals! Andrea's recitals are a pleasure to hear, all the kids improve so much each time they play. And she plays beautifully, which has been an inspiration to my kids.

Andrea is a very professional and knowledgeable piano instructor. She has been working with my two children, ages 7 and 10, for about six months. I have so enjoyed my lessons with Andrea for a multitude of reasons. She is very reliable. Her music theory knowledge is very impressive. In addition, she has taught me so much about hand and finger positioning on the keyboard. I feel this has really improved my piano skills. I like that she allows me to play a variety of different music. It really helps to keep my interest. Finally, as they say, it is “hard to teach an old dog new tricks.” As an older student I know I can be challenging. I so appreciate her patience and encouragement. We were searching for a new piano teacher 4 years ago, and we were lucky to find Andrea through an online ad. I contacted her and was pleasantly surprised. Andrea was knowledgeable and willing to work with my 11-year-old daughter, Meri, who had been previously taught to play by ear. This method was limiting her in progressing to the next level, and I knew if she was to move forward we had to find a new teacher.
Andrea suggested starting lessons over, from the beginning. At first, I was worried that all those previous years of lessons were lost, but over time Andrea was able to turn it around. It required a steady commitment by both Andrea and Meri. Starting over is not easy, but it was absolutely the right course to take.
Andrea is patient and knowledgeable. Her formal training comes through in her teaching style; she instinctively motivates without pushing too hard. She's kind and fun. All important qualities to have when teaching young children, as well as adolescents.
In December of last year, Andrea sadly let us know she was relocating to another part of the state. After all the hard work, not to mention the relationship she and Meri had formed, I wondered if Andrea would be willing to have online lessons via FaceTime. Andrea researched what was needed; only a simple microphone and a computer. Long distance online lessons began in January, and we couldn't be happier. My daughter has weekly Sunday morning lessons, and Andrea is flexible if that needs to change. Lessons are just as productive online as they were in person... they really haven't skipped a beat.
Andrea has become one of Meri's longest adult professional relationships. The gift of having a solid piano foundation, understanding theory and knowing how to read and play simple and complex notes will hopefully inspire her to continue lessons into adulthood. Meri has played many times at school events, and she's even played in church at her formal middle school graduation. Every time I hear the sounds of music I think of Andrea and I am thankful we found her and grateful for her generosity and love of teaching.

Andrea has been teaching my 7-year-old daughter for more than 6 months now. She is very knowledgeable and knows how to communicate with kids. My daughter enjoys the lessons and is progressing very well. Andrea is always on time and ensures that we know ahead of time of any changes to the schedule.
